Bernardo Gaivão has a degree in Communication from the Lusíada University of Lisbon and a M.Sc in Advertising by IADE. He is director of Academia Pordata since March, 2010 and CEO of the D-Office training company.

Júlia Seixas is Professor at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of NOVA University of Lisbon. She is the head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, and teaches for more than 25 years in the fields of Remote Sensing of Environmental and Energy and Climate Change. She is a full member of CENSE research centre, where she coordinates the Energy & Climate group. She is a member of the scientific committee of the PhD program set by University of Lisbon and NOVA in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies, and participates in PhD programs in Global Studies (FCSH-UNL). She has over 70 publications in ISI journals, and has coordinated studies supporting the national public policy (eg National Climate Change Programme, National Low Carbon Roadmap, the role of CCS technology in the industry transition to a low carbon economy). Since September 2016, she is the coordinator of the RIS Climate-KIC for Portugal, dedicated to boosting the national innovation for a climate change economy, funded by the largest EU public-private partnership.

Pedro Neves Ferreira was born on May 5th 1975. He has a degree in Electrotechnical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, Lisbon) and an MBA from INSEAD (France). Pedro started his professional career in 1998 as consultant with McKinsey & Company, working in engagements in the energy, telecoms and retail sectors. From 2001 to 2002 he worked as a senior consultant with Diamond Cluster in engagements in Portugal, Spain and Belgium. He joined EDP in 2003 in the Energy Planning Department, which he led starting 2007. His mission was to support EDP’s Board of Management in long-term energy planning decisions and portfolio definition. Since 2014 he also headed the Corporate Risk Management Department. Pedro is currently Member of the Board at EDP Produção, EDP’s Generation Business Unit.

Tiago Domingos, M.Sc. in Engineering Physics (IST) and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (IST), is an associate professor in Environment and Energy at IST, University of Lisbon. He teaches or has taught courses in Thermodynamics, Energy and Environment, Environmental Modelling, Environmental Economics and Ecological Economics. His main research areas are Ecological Economics and Ecological Modelling, in topics such as DEB theory for the metabolism of organisms, energy and economic growth, carbon responsibility, ecosystem services, comprehensive accounting and sustainable agriculture. He is president of MARETEC – Marine, Environment and Technology Centre and coordinator of the Integrated Master in Environmental Engineering. He is founder and CEO of Terraprima – Environmental Services, an IST Spin-off.
Next Kraftwerke
Tobias Romberg was born in 1980. He studied Renewable Energy Engineering in Leipzig and Cologne. Coming from a technical background he started building up know how on electricity markets by developing concepts for an optimized configuration of biogas plants to flexibly adjust electricity production. Starting at a local utility he joined Next Kraftwerke at an early stage. Here he put the idea of flexible biogas units into practice and supported the integration of biogas as well as emergency generators into the Next Pool, Next Kraftwerke’s VPP solution. He was also in charge of several research activities dealing with optimization and market integration of different technologies. With 5 years of experience he today works for Politics & Research department dealing with regulatory issues in Germany and Europe as well as leading pilot and research activities as a project manager.

Victor Baptista, Institutional Relations Director of REN, SGPS, SA has a degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP. Director of the Board of REN, between 2001 and 2010, plays currently as Director of Institutional Relations of the Group REN accumulating with the Vice President of Med-TSO-Mediterranean Transmission System Operators Association and the Portuguese chairmanship of CIGRÉ-International Council of Large Electric Systems.
